All those who practise meditation regularly, in particular in the morning, when time is sometimes limited by work and/or family obligations, know how inconvenient it is to have to watch the time precisely when we would like to free our minds and relax in the practice.
It is difficult to really let go of all preoccupations as our meditation teachers tell us and actually "plunge" into an exploration of the inner world if, by so doing, we are afraid to lose all notion of time... and have to pay for it for the rest of the day!
And yet, isn't it exactly for that reason that we meditate? To enter a deep state of relaxation which unwinds the usual mechanisms of the thinking mind and to penetrate into a silence which opens the doors of contemplation and insight?
When we meditate in a group, this kind of consideration does not bother us because there is a teacher who hits a bell at the end of the session. Well, a Gong Timer can play this role of "guardian of time": setting it to the time you can allow to your meditation period, you can then completely free your mind from the notion of time and fully enjoy the depth of your practice.
The bases for a good and beautiful day are being established!
N.B. There are applications that can help you do this too, but beauty and nature are part of the world we explore and this beautiful, perfectly shaped wooden pyramid seems more appropriate to some of us.
